The varsity lacrosse Owls (9-4) secured a 15-3 victory over CBHS yesterday to clinch the No. 2 seed in the West Region, closing out the regular season with an impressive all-around performance.
MUS controlled the game from the start, combining efficient offense with strong defensive play to build a commanding lead and maintain control throughout the contest.
Senior Dallas Keras led the offensive effort with four goals and three assists, while senior Sanford Owen recorded a balanced performance with three goals, three assists, and three groundballs. Sophomore James Hanlon added a hat-trick with three goals, and senior Feild Owen contributed a goal and an assist.
Additional scoring came from senior William Fruechtenicht, junior Woodson Dunavant, sophomores Bruce Stockburger and Caleb Loudenbeck, who also added an assist and two groundballs. Sophomore Thomas Levy and freshman Wallace Bradshaw contributed on the defensive end with four and three groundballs, respectively.
At the faceoff X, junior Dhilan Madasu was dominant, winning all six of his draws to help the Owls control possession.
In goal, junior Joel Hobson anchored the defense with eight saves while allowing just three goals.
With the win, the Owls lock in the No. 2 seed in the West Region and will host a quarterfinal matchup on May 2 as postseason play begins next week.
