The varsity lacrosse Owls (7-4) secured an 8-3 road region victory over Briarcrest yesterday, improving their standing in league play with a strong all-around performance.
MUS set the tone early, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime behind a disciplined defensive effort. In the third quarter, both teams traded goals in a back-and-forth stretch before the Owls pulled away to seal the win.
Senior Sanford Owen led the offensive charge with four goals and one assist, including a hat-trick. Seniors Dallas Keras and Feild Owen each recorded a goal and an assist, while sophomore Bruce Stockburger and junior Cannon Sherman added a goal apiece. Sophomore Thomas Levy contributed an assist as the Owls shared the ball effectively throughout the contest.
In goal, junior Joel Hobson delivered a standout performance with 14 saves, anchoring the defense and limiting Briarcrest's scoring opportunities.
With the win, the Owls look to build momentum heading into Senior Day on Saturday against Houston.
