The varsity Track & Field team turned in a historic performance this week, finishing 1st at the West Regional Meet for the first time in 11 years. The Owls delivered across every discipline to secure a dominant team championship and highlight one of the strongest meets in program history.

- 1st Place – 100 Meter Dash (school record: 10.61)
- 1st Place – Pole Vault (14-0)
- 2nd Place – 200 Meter Dash (22.23)
- 2nd Place – 400 Meter Dash (48.87)
Taylor's 100m mark of 10.61 broke the previous school record of 10.75, set in 2025 by teammate Gavin Gatere.
Gavin Gatere
- 1st Place – 110 Meter Hurdles (14.88)
- 1st Place – 300 Meter Hurdles (40.56)
- 1st Place – Discus (148-5)
- 2nd Place – Pole Vault (13-6)
Porter Spiceland
- 1st Place – 3200 Meter Run (9:22.10)
- 2nd Place – 1600 Meter Run (school record: 4:17.61)
- 2nd Place – 800 Meter Run (1:53.72)
Spiceland's 4:17.61 in the 1600 broke a school record that had stood since 1977, surpassing Mark Porter's 4:19.14.

Allen Halliday Jr.

Historic Team Finish
The Owls' depth and versatility powered them to a West Regional Championship, marking the program's first regional title in 11 years. Multiple event wins, relay dominance, and record-breaking performances defined a night that will stand out in program history.
Next up for the Owls is the TSSAA Division II-AA State Decathlon, which begins Wednesday, May 13 at Ensworth. Seniors Harry Alexander, Gavin Gatere, and McEwen Taylor Jr. will represent MUS in the state competition.
