The varsity baseball Owls fell 8-1 to St. George's on Friday in the series finale.
St. George's jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the first inning and added another in the second to take control. The Gryphons broke the game open in the fourth, scoring five runs to extend their advantage.
The Owls' offense was led by senior Carter Sayle, who turned in a perfect day at the plate, going 4-for-4 from the leadoff spot.Senior Reid McKnett drove in the lone run for MUS, finishing 1-for-4.
On the mound, sophomore William Frazee took the loss, while freshman Johnston Moak provided a strong effort in relief. The left-hander tossed 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing just two hits.
Defensively, the Owls were solid, turning two double plays and committing no errors. Sophomore Hudson Jacks led the way in the field with five chances.
The Owls will look to bounce back on Monday as they return home for a region matchup against Briarcrest.
