The varsity baseball Owls (8-10) dropped an 11-1 decision to St. George's on Thursday.
The Owls got on the board early in the top of the second inning when freshman Walker Brown delivered an RBI single to give MUS a 1-0 lead.
St. George's responded in the bottom half of the inning, scoring twice to take the lead, and added another run in the third to make it 3-1. The Gryphons broke the game open in the fifth inning, plating five runs.
Junior Henry Maxwell took the loss on the mound for the Owls, while the St. George's starter earned the win after allowing just one run over six innings.
Brown led MUS with an RBI, while junior James Loeffler, junior Doug Suddarth, senior Reid McKnett, junior Matthew Ray, junior Foster Flaherty, sophomore Hudson Jacks, sophomore Haynes Kiser, and Brown each recorded a hit. The Owls also turned a double play defensively.
The Owls will look to bounce back as they return home to face St. George's in the series finale this afternoon.
