The varsity baseball Owls (10-15) dropped an 8-3 decision to Oxford tonight on the road.
Oxford broke through in the third inning, using a two-run double and a two-run home run to take control of the game.
The Owls got on the board with a strong offensive showing from senior Carter Sayle, who drove in two runs and helped pace the MUS lineup. Junior Matthew Ray, junior Foster Flaherty, and sophomore Haynes Kiser also recorded hits for the Owls.
Senior Henry Moak got the start on the mound, striking out six over five innings of work, but was tagged with the loss.
MUS added one double play defensively during the contest.
The Owls will look to bounce back on Thursday as they travel to Fayette Academy.
