The Owls (0-2) fell 4-1 to Munford on Wednesday night, but several strong performances highlighted the evening.
Junior Foster Flaherty led the Owls at the plate with a 2-for-3 effort and an RBI, helping MUS collect six hits over the course of the game. Junior Henry Maxwell delivered a standout performance on the mound, pitching six shutout innings in relief, striking out three and allowing just three hits.
Senior Carter Sayle started on the mound for MUS and was followed by Maxwell, who helped keep Munford's offense in check after a tough first inning. The Owls played solid defense throughout the contest and showed resilience in the field.
MUS returns home tonight to host MHEA, looking to build on the positives from Wednesday's effort.
