Owls Battle Through Day 2 of Gulf Coast Classic

The Owls faced a challenging day at the Gulf Coast Classic in Orange Beach, Alabama, competing in two games on Tuesday. They fought hard but came up short in both contests.

Game 1 — vs. Lebanon High School (10-4)

MUS had a strong offensive showing, highlighted by senior Reid McKnett driving in two runs in the middle of the order. Junior Foster Flaherty led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Defensively, the Owls were sharp in the field, turning one double play and keeping the team competitive throughout the game.

Game 2 — vs. Wilson Central (12-2)

The Owls started strong with senior Landry Cooper and sophomore Hudson Jacks each driving in a run in the first inning. Cooper, Jacks, sophomore Haynes Kiser, and junior Austin Spence each recorded a hit during the contest. MUS continued to showcase solid defense, including a double play, while competing throughout the game.

The Owls will travel to Volanta Park for their next game on Wednesday, aiming to build on the positives from a challenging day at the Gulf Coast Classic.
