The cross country team delivered a strong showing at the Southern Showcase, yesterday, in Huntsville, Alabama. Competing against one of the deepest fields in the Southeast, the Owls finished 26th out of 51 teams in the Boys Championship 5K.
Senior Porter Spiceland led the Owls with a season-best time at 16:25.31, setting the tone up front. Freshman Noah Hinote followed closely with a strong 16:36.98, while senior Carter Wildrick added depth for the Owls at 17:25.24. Sophomore Kade McCracken ran a steady 17:45.56, and freshman Hudson Bobo closed out the scoring five at 17:51.78.
The Owls also received solid contributions from freshman Zach Wildrick (18:32.26), junior Will Brezina (19:01.46), and junior Coleman Russell (19:34.22). Each gained valuable experience competing against a nationally recognized field in a high-pressure setting.
The meet offered MUS an important early-season benchmark, showing the team's ability to compete with some of the top programs in the region. With Spiceland and Hinote pacing the front and a balanced mix of veterans and young runners contributing, the Owls are building confidence and momentum for the weeks ahead.
Great Job, Team!
