The Owls capped off a strong season with a seventh-place finish out of 15 teams at the TSSAA Division II-AA State Championship last Friday at Shelby Farms.

Senior Porter Spiceland led the Owls with a personal-best time at 15:44.34, placing ninth overall in a highly competitive field. His mark stands as the fastest state time by an MUS runner since 2006, when the league transitioned from a 3-mile race to the 5K format.

Behind Spiceland, freshman Noah Hinote clocked 16:37.49, followed by freshman Will Hagerman (17:22.71), senior Carter Wildrick (17:56.03), and sophomore Kade McCracken (17:56.15) to round out the scoring five. Freshmen James Byrd (18:16.03) and Ethan Vines (18:24.67) also turned in strong performances to help secure the team's top-10 finish.

With a total team time of 1:25:36, the Owls averaged 17:07 per runner to close out a season marked by steady progress and depth across the roster.

Final Team Standing:
