The cross country team opened their 2025 season at the Saturday Light Fever meet in Hendersonville, TN, racing under the lights at Sanders Ferry Park. The team placed 12th out of 36 teams, a strong showing in a deep and competitive field. Freshman Noah Hinote led the way at 17:53.71, setting the tone for the Owls' young squad. He was followed closely by sophomore Kade McCracken at 18:12.82, while junior Coleman Russell crossed at 18:41.54 to round out the top three. Freshman Ethan Vines clocked at 18:54.87, and fellow freshman Zach Wildrick finished at 19:02.56, giving MUS a solid pack presence through five scorers.
Behind them, juniors Will Brezina (19:37.23) and Krish Agrawal (22:01.30) added depth, while senior Bennett Jones capped the varsity group at 23:06.71. The blend of experienced upperclassmen and promising underclassmen highlighted the Owls' potential, as three freshmen finished among the team's top five. Despite the challenges of a fast course and the energy of a night race, MUS showed composure, consistency, and grit throughout the lineup.
With the season now underway, the Owls have a clear foundation to build upon. Closing the scoring gaps and sharpening mid-race tactics will be key as the schedule continues, but the mix of youth and experience suggests plenty of upside. Overall, the Saturday Light Fever meet gave MUS a promising start, with performances that point toward steady improvement and exciting possibilities this fall.
Great job, Team!
