The Owls picked up a key region victory Thursday afternoon, defeating Briarcrest 22–5 at Cordova Lanes. The Owls tallied a total pinfall of 2,480 to Briarcrest's 2,169, winning both traditional games and both Baker games.
Game 1
MUS came out strong in the opening game, building an early lead behind steady scoring across the lineup. Junior
Jacob Stalls led the way with a 197, followed by senior
Reese Deupree with a 179 and sophomore
Drew Tayloe with a 170. The balanced effort helped the Owls take control from the start.
Game 2
The Owls maintained their momentum in the second game, highlighted by a 245 performance from sophomore
Hank Thompson and a 208 from Deupree. MUS extended its advantage through consistent spare shooting and teamwork, taking a commanding edge in total pins heading into the Baker games.
First Baker Game
MUS kept rolling with a sharp 221–139 win in the first Baker game. The rotation executed clean frames to secure the round and add three more points to the Owls' total.
Second Baker Game
The Owls finished the match with a 137–109 victory in the second Baker game, sealing the 22–5 region win. Contributions from up and down the lineup helped close things out on a strong note.
With the win, MUS continues to build confidence and momentum across the roster with more region matchups on the horizon.
