Owls Open Season with Commanding Win over Houston

The bowling team opened the 2025-2026 season with a decisive 21-6 victory over Houston, earning the program's first win of the year through consistent performances across the lineup.

The Owls established control in Game 1, defeating Houston 949–860 in total pins and collecting six of eight available points. Junior Jacob Stalls led the effort with a 190, while junior Rex Levy added a strong 180. Junior Chase Frazer (146) and sophomore Hank Thompson (153) also secured individual wins to give MUS an early advantage.

In Game 2, the Owls extended their lead behind senior Reese Deupree, who rolled a match-high 204. Thompson followed with a steady 194, and both Stalls (167) and sophomore Drew Tayloe (166) earned victories on their lanes. MUS again prevailed in total pins, further widening the margin.

The teams then split the Baker games, with Houston taking the opener 152–125 before the Owls responded with a 148–113 win in the second.

With the 21–6 result, MUS improves to 1–0 on the season and will look to carry this momentum into upcoming region competition.
