Despite three Owls' finishing in double figures in points, the varsity basketball team suffered its first loss of the year, falling to Parkview (AR) High School out of Little Rock, 65-54, at the Bartlett Classic.
The game was tied at the half at 23 as the Owls hit 4 three-pointers and kept the athletic Patriots off the free-throw line. However, in the second half, Parkview became more aggressive, ultimately forcing 17 turnovers and getting the foul line 22 times, making 19 of the attempts. Despite trailing by as much as 16 points at 52-36, the Owls continued to battle to keep the game close, but they could not overcome the deficit.

Levi Johnson paced the Owls with 13 points each, and senior
Bo Echols added 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots. Ataga also had 4 blocks. The Owls now stand at 5-1 on the year.
