Jimmy Ogle ’70 Inducted into Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis University School alumnus Jimmy Ogle '70 was inducted into the Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame on Monday evening, recognizing his accomplishments on the basketball court and his lasting impact on the Memphis sports community.

Ogle was a standout for the Owls during his time at MUS. As a senior, he led the team in both scoring and assists and helped lead the Owls to back-to-back 20+ win seasons under legendary head coach Jerry Peters, including an undefeated regular season in 1969-70.

Following his time at MUS, Ogle continued his basketball career at Southwestern at Memphis, now Rhodes College, where he made an immediate impact. As a freshman, he set the school's freshman single-game scoring record with 29 points, a mark that still stands today.

His induction into the Memphis Amateur Sports Hall of Fame places him among a distinguished group of athletes and contributors who have helped shape the rich tradition of amateur sports in Memphis.

Congratulations to Jimmy Ogle on this well-deserved honor and for his lasting impact on the school's proud athletic tradition.
