Strong Fourth-Quarter Push Lifts Owls to Day 1 Victory Over FACS

The varsity basketball Owls moved to 4-0 on the season with a 55-46 win over FACS during the first day of the 2025 Jerry Peters Turkey Shootout.

Senior Bo Echols continued to show his improvement as he recorded his second consecutive double-double, both achieved in the first half, as he finished with 23 points and 16 rebounds to pace the Owls. Ehi Ataga added 12 rebounds and 7 points as the Owls outrebounded the Crusaders by 8, 46-38.

The Owls overcame poor shooting (31.1% overall) by forcing 13 turnovers, recording 8 steals, and blocking 7 shots as they forced the Crusaders into tough perimeter looks. They never trailed and outscored the Crusaders by 7 in the final 4:27 to secure the win.

The Turkey Shootout concludes tomorrow with four more games, starting at 11:00 a.m. and concluding with the Owls' game against Union City, set for 3:30 p.m. The contest is the 2000th game in the modern history of the program.
