Playing a Saturday contest at Rhodes College, the varsity basketball Owls made good use of the college atmosphere to blow out the talented Bulldogs, 81-52, to move to 3-0 on the season.
The Owls never trailed, leading, 40-26, at the half, and besting that score in the second half by scoring 41 points as they shot 53.4% from the floor for the game.
The team had 4 players finish in double figures, led by Bo Echols's 18 points and 18 rebounds. Ehi Ataga added 17 points, while Levi Johnson had 15 points, and Kendon Leakes contributed 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The defense was also strong, holding Fairley to 30.9% shooting (17-55) and limiting them just to 6 for 24 from 3-point range. The Owls also forced 15 turnovers and had 4 blocked shots in the dominant triumph.
