The wrestling team opened its season yesterday in Hernando, Mississippi, competing in the annual Mid-South Matness Tournament at The Gatorade Fieldhouse. The Owls turned in a solid early-season performance, finishing 11th out of 23 teams in a highly competitive field.

In the varsity tournament, two Owls reached the podium. Senior Cody Pratt (132) led the way with an impressive 2nd-place finish, while senior Trey McDonald (144) battled through his bracket to secure 3rd place.

The team also shined in the JV tournament, earning three top-three finishes. Freshman Leo Demere (138) and senior Oliver Leavitt (215) each captured 1st place in their respective divisions, and sophomore Victor Ruleman (175) added a strong 3rd-place finish to round out the day.
