The varsity basketball team used a barrage of 3-point field goals to break open a close game and ultimately claim a 75-57 home victory over an athletic PURE Academy squad.
Sophomore Levi Johnson led the way, going an incredible 8-for-10 from 3-point range to finish with a season-high 26 points. The Owls hit 14 3-pointers as they led by 3 points early in the second half but used an 18-2 run to end the threat and take their second win of the season.
The Owls shot 52.1% for the contest and held the Royals to 33.3%, including 21.9% from 3-point range (7 for 32). In addition to Johnson, Bo Echols added 13 points and 7 rebounds, and Montgomery Griffin added 11 points.
