The varsity basketball Owls opened the 2025-26 season with a hard-fought 64–57 win over Booker T. Washington to start 1-0 on the year.

The Owls performed well in the first half, taking a 37–26 lead into the half. BTW kept the game within reach in the second half, ultimately pulling within 3 points with 2:04 left in the game. But the Owls made their final four free throws to secure the victory.

Senior Ehi Ataga set the pace offensively with 20 points while sophomore Levi Johnson added 12. Ataga also controlled the glass with a team-high 16 rebounds. Senior Bo Echols contributed the next-highest rebound total for the Owls with 8.

The Owls next take the court this-coming Friday night against PURE Academy at 7:30pm.
