Recent graduate Charlie Hottinger has been recognized with the 2025–26 NFHS Award of Excellence for Sportsmanship, Ethics & Integrity, an honor presented by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA).
The award recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional character, integrity, and sportsmanship through their athletic pursuits and within their school communities. Established by the NFHS and TSSAA, the honor celebrates individuals who consistently model the values of respect, leadership, and ethical behavior in competition and beyond.
In announcing the award, TSSAA noted that recipients are student-athletes who take extraordinary strides in demonstrating exceptional character through athletics and who positively influence teammates, opponents, and those around them.
Hottinger's selection reflects the qualities he has consistently displayed as a member of the MUS community and athletic program. His commitment to sportsmanship, leadership, and integrity has made a positive impact on his teammates and coaches while helping foster a culture of respect and excellence.
