David Ferebee began his tenure at MUS in 1999 and was named head swimming coach in 2023. In his first season, he led the Owls to a runner-up finish in the county meet and an appearance in the state meet. He currently serves as chair of the Physical Education department and as assistant athletic director for logistics. He combines his extensive knowledge of athletic development with his experience as a parent of two successful competitive swimmers (including his son, Benton ’18) to provide MUS an excellent leader of a swim program that serves both our year-round club swimmers and our seasonal swimmers. This format has allowed the school to be the dominant program in Shelby County and a consistent top-ten program in the state.
