Chris Lewis

Having assumed the role of head coach in 2017, Lewis has built a solid, respected wrestling team. A graduate of Father Ryan High School and Rhodes College, he taught and coached at Christian Brothers High School for twenty-six years. He took over their wrestling program in 1997, leading teams to seventeen regional championships, three state runner-up finishes, two state dual titles, and one traditional state title. He has also coached twenty-five state champions, three national champions, and six USAW All-Americans. He was named NWCA Tennessee Coach of the Year in 2009, NFHS Coaches Association Tennessee Wrestling Coach of the Year in 2010, and The Commercial Appeal’s Wrestling Coach of the Year ten times. In 2001 he created a youth wrestling program with almost one hundred boys participating each year. Coach Lewis was named the Daily Memphian 2022 Wrestling Coach of the Year.
