Drew Hinote

Drew Hinote took over the track program in 2025 for Orlando McKay, who served as head coach in an interim year following the retirement of Bobby Alston (head coach from 1983-2023). Hinote joined the MUS faculty in 2023 as an instructional technology teacher and assistant track coach. In his first season assisting the track program, he helped lead the Owls to a region runner-up finish. Working specifically with sprinters and hurdlers, Hinote coached Noland Brown ’24 to an individual state championship in the 110-meter hurdles. Prior to MUS, Hinote served for 12 years as head cross country and track coach at Woodland Presbyterian School, where he won five city championships. He is the father of MUS alumnus Palmer Hinote ’25.
