The swimming team, guided by Head Coach David Ferebee, delivered a robust and well-rounded performance both in dual meets and championship competitions. The Owls started the season strong, dominating regular season meets and showcasing depth across all strokes. Their highlight came at the Shelby County Championship, where they earned a third-place finish. Standout county champions included senior
Coleman Kimmel (200IM, 100 breaststroke) and junior
Luke Tjiong (both 100-meter and 50-meter butterfly), while relay squads shined: the 400-meter free relay placed second, and the 200-meter free relay secured a third-place finish.
Several other swimmers contributed top five finishes, adding essential points toward the team total. Four varsity swimmers qualified to compete in the TISCA State Championship in Knoxville (Kimmel, Tjiong, senior
Josh Ungab, and freshman
Russell Lindeman). At the state championship, Kimmel broke the eight-year-old school record in the 100 breaststroke, 56.50 seconds. Kimmel was later named the Daily Memphian Boys Swimmer of the Year. Kimmel, Tijong, and Lindeman were named to the All-Metro Team, as well as the 200-meter medley relay and the 400-meter free relay teams (Kimmel, Tjiong, Ungab, and Lindeman).
