The varsity swim Owls continued its early-season momentum Saturday at Meet #3, turning in several top-five finishes across a competitive sprint-heavy lineup.
The Owls opened the meet with strong performances in the 100 IM, as senior Porter Spiceland placed 4th and sophomore Benjamin Sims followed closely with a 5th-place finish, setting the tone for a productive afternoon.
Sprint events proved to be a strength for MUS, led by freshman Charlie Dudek, who earned a 2nd-place finish in the 50 backstroke, while junior Benjamin Nichol added a 4th-place result in the same event. In the 100 freestyle, senior Luke Tjiong continued his strong season with a 3rd-place finish.
Tjiong also delivered one of the meet's top highlights in the 50 butterfly, racing to a 2nd-place finish, while junior Drew Knighton followed with a 4th-place result, giving the Owls two top-five finishes in the event.
The Owls closed the meet with back-to-back podium performances from sophomore Russell Lindeman, who placed 2nd in both the 100 backstroke and the 100 butterfly, showcasing versatility and endurance late in the meet.
Overall, MUS showed depth across multiple strokes and distances, continuing to build consistency as the season progresses.
